How to Setup E-MAP for MVTEAM 5-in-1 DVR?

E-Map(electronic map) is a way of creating a map showing where the DVR is located and the location of the cameras for that DVR. This can be customized to show cameras from multiple DVRs or cameras from different DVRs on the same E-Map. Here we will show you how to setup E-Map on the CMS software of MVTEAM 5-in-1 DVR.

Firstly, please make sure the DVR is connected to internet and can view on the CMS software successfully. Then, choose  "business", click "E-Map"--> "Add picture".

The picture(BMP/PNG) could be a map or a blueprint of the location in which the cameras are located. Find the path, Input picture name and picture describe, click "OK".

After adding, double-click the picture, it will come to the preview window. 

Drag the devices at the device list into the picture, click "Save", the E-Map setting will be finished.

Recognising the impact your security system can have on the environment is a challenge for everyone, but it’s worth remembering the additional benefit of reducing the energy consumption of your video surveillance system is a potential saving for your organisation. MVTEAM is continuously looking at ways that we can be “greener” – from the materials we use through to the transportation options. Here we give you some tips on making yoursecurity camera system more energy-efficient and greener.

Choose durable security cameras

One of the first things you could look at is how durable your security camera is. If you are deploying a camera outside in potentially harsh weather conditions, you should use an outdoor camera or a model that has a weather-resistant housing. If the camera is being used in areas where tampering can be an issue, then the housing should also be vandal-proof. In these scenarios, we recommend having at least an IP66 housing for waterproof, at least IK08-rated for impact resistance. All MVTEAM Outdoor cameas are IP66-rated and we havevandal-proof camera with IK10-rated. Using a camera that’s robust enough for the conditions in which it’s being deployed will improve longevity and reliability. In turn, that means less repairs and maintenance resulting in improved sustainability and the total cost of ownership for the cameras over time.

Reduce your video storage 
Choose the security camera systems come with video motion detection capabilities, which can be helpful for event-based recording and reduce unwanted recordings. There’s potential to reduce your video storage and the associated energy consumption. All MVTEAM security camera systems support motion detection recording.

The H.265 technology also can save video storage. Under the same display quality, MVTEAM 4MP H.265 IP camera only cost half storage space and bandwidth than H.264 format camera.

Do you need Infrared（IR） LEDs?
For people looking to record in areas that have diminished light, cameras with built-in IR LEDs are usually the most popular option to go with. But when you look at this choice from an energy-efficiency standpoint, perhaps other options should be considered. The IR LEDs do consume power and this should be considered as part of the total cost of ownership. In these scenarios if you want to keep energy usage and costs down, you can shoose cameras that use low-light technology instead. Sure, the low-light cameras will cost much higher than IR cameras.

Use of Power-over-Ethernet (POE)

If you use IP security system, we recommand you use POE. this will allow you to send both power and network connectivity across one cable. Resulting in lower costs, less downtime, easier maintenance and greater installation flexibility.

How to Choose Switch for 720P/1080P IP Cameras? Fast(10/100M) or Gigabit?

Switch is a necessary part in IP camera system. Choose the proper switches can make the IP system work with the best performance and save the unnecessary cost. Here we will talk about how to choose the correct switches for a small 720P/1080P IP system.

First of all, we have to figure out how much bandwidth each channel occupies.
720P IP Camera, the main stream is 2 ~ 3M, the sub-stream is 0.8 ~ 1M, total about 4M.
1080P IP Camera, the main stream is 4 ~ 6M, the sub-stream is 0.8 ~ 1M, total about 7M.

Second, to clarify the bandwidth capacity of switch , we usually use 100M switches or Gigabit switches. The actual bandwidth is only 60% to 70% of the theoretical value, so their total bandwidth capacity is roughly 60Mbps or 600Mbps.

Thirdly, from the network topology, a LAN is usually 2~3 layers. The end which connect cameras is the access layer, usually using a 10/100M switch is enough, unless you connect a lot of cameras on a switch. The pooling layer, the core layer will be based on how many cameras are converged on the switch, the calculation as below:

720P IP camera, less then 15 channels could use 10/100M switch, more than 15 channels use Gigabit switch.
1080P IP cameras, less then 8 channels use 100M switch, more than 8 channels use Gigabit switch.

How to Setup Audio for MVTEAM 5-in-1 Hybrid DVR?

MVTEAM 5-in-1 hybrid DVRs support audio, after connect audio pickup device to the DVR audio-in, also need do two-step settings on dvr menu. Then, you can hear the audio and dvr will record video&audio at the same time. The settings as below:

Step 1: Enter dvr menu--> System--> Encode--> Choose the Channel which you connect audio pickup device--> Enable the Audio as below:

Step 2: Open the voice for the channel which you connect audio pickup device.

If you want to hear the voice, also need connect louder speaker to DVR audio-output. If the dvr is connected to monitor which has louder speaker, then, don't need connect another louder speaker to dvr audio-ouput, you can hear the voice from monitor.

The image color of new CCTV cameras are factory setting, but everyone has different request about the image color, so we make the image color of camera adjustable by users. In this post, we will show you how to adjust the image color of MVTEAM AHD CCTV cameras.

1080P/2MP AHD Cameras Color Adjust

Enter the camera menu by OSD button or UTC function,choose IMAGE ADJ.

Here you can adjust the CONTRAST and GAIN.

Default value of the R GAIN is 50, if you think the color is red, then can reduce the R GAIN to 30, or any other value you think the color looks good.

3MP&4MP AHD Cameras Color Adjust

Enter the camera menu by OSD button or UTC function,choose ADJUST.

Then,choose MONITOR

Here you can adjust the RED GAIN or Blue GAIN.

If you think the factory setting color is better than the color you set, you can reset the camera to factory settings by press the RESET.

If you use MVTEAM 5-in-1 DVR, also can adjust the color for each channel camera in DVR menu.

Right click DVR mouse on camera image,choose color setting.

Here you can adjust the color of each channel,the color change is obviously when adjust the Contrast.
