What should care when choose storage device for security cameras?

In the cctv market, there are many storage devices exist mainly the AHD DVR,SDI-DVR,Hybrid DVR,NVR,CVR,NAS,SAS,cloud technology .When choose the camera and the storage device,the compatibility must be considered mostly.Now,we will discuss something about the compatibility between camera and storage device focused on AHD DVR,SDI-DVR,Hybrid DVR,NVR.

1.HD camera + DVR
No matter HDCVI,HDTVI and AHD camera,they must match the same technology DVR.
Because dahua controled the HDCVI technology,so their DVR not support HDCVI and AHD camera,noly HDCVI camera. With the new series of HDTVI or AHD product comes out,they can matched witch the AHD DVR.It is obvious,the DVR and the HD camera need be the same singal technology,then work well.Need to say,MVTEAM had released the hybrid DVR that five in one mode,which means it can match the different cameras such IPC,ahd camera,CVI camera ,TVI camera and analog camera.

2.SDI-DVR
Since the standard technology level of SDI-DVR ,it is not exist the compatibility problem.

3.NVR system
When you decide to buy the ip camera from one seller ,you’d better buy the NVR at the same time.
It is advised that the IP camera and NVR should be the same brand ,if they are not the same,then the storage should support ONVIF,PSIA,GB/T 28181,RTSP and so on, what’s more ,it must be tested the compatibility firstly . That’s why we often ask the customer whether also need the NVR .So that is not our sales request but our consideration in compatibility.

4.Compress format
When comes to the Compress format,the camera and the storage device must be the same.for example,when the camera adopt h.265 .Then the storage device also should be h.265.

5.Resolution
It will be better the resolution DVR or NVR supported equal or more than the camera .for example,the camera resolution can reach 1.3MP , that means the DVR or NVR should supported equal or more than 1.3MP,or the storage image resolution will not reach to 1.3MP.

Manually add device interface is same as TOPVIEW and XVR,after add device successfully,the image display is like following.The size of each interface is different, but you can put the channel to the interface you want, like put channel 2 to the top interface.

The disadvantage of the APP is that it can only view 1ch or 4ch in one screen,and there is no next page.For 8ch,16ch DVR, you can only choose the 4 channels you want to view by selecting the channels here:

Compared the three APPs, TOPSVIEW and XVR is better, and they are working stably till now. GOOLINK is a spare choice if you need.You can also download the three APPs to try which you prefer to.

Some of the customers asked about how to reset the password of DVR (PAH51 / 53 /55series).Please know the default password of all our DVR is blank,that means there is no password.Here we will guide you about how to set or change the password of DVR.The steps as below :
Turn on DVR,enter Main Menu-->System-->Account,click "Modify password",input new password and confirm password,then click "OK",the password will be changed successfully.

Last week we shared the article about how to backup dvr video records by USB flash disk,many friends like and share the article,thank you so much.Today,we will talk about how to backup DVR video records by client software.Every client software should have the function of remote backup the videos which saved in dvrs' hard disks.With this function,users can remote backup video records at anywhere.Here we use MVTEAM 5 in 1 DVRas example show how to backup by client software.

1-Remote connect the DVR to client software on computer.

The client software of our DVR is CMS3.0,you can download it from http://www.mvteamcctv.com/download.html 

2-Set the download path and video format as below.

Click "SystemManage",set "devicerecording path" and choose "AVI" as save record type.

3-Click "Playback" in menu list of CMS,will see options as below:

Device file means the video records in DVR hard disk(we need choose device file).

Local file means the video records which store on computer.

Then,choose the channels,start time and end time,click search results.

Results show as below:

Choose the video you want to download,click download-->OK,will see the download progress bar in download list.

After finishing the download,can found the backup videos at the save path which was set in step 2.

In this way,you can backup video records at anywhere,no need go to monitoring room,no need usb disk,external hard disk etc.It's very convinient,right?

For MVTEAM IP Cameras,the RTSP URL is rtsp://+IP Address of IPC.For example,the IP address of IPC is 192.168.1.88,then,RTSP address is rtsp://192.168.1.88.

How to play the RTSP Video Stream in VLC Media Player?

Firsly,login the IPC in browser,enable the RTSP function in network setting interface as below:

Secondly,get the IP address of IPC.

Thirdly,download a VLC media player from http://www.videolan.org/vlc/, it's a free player.

Download,install and open the VLC media player.

Then,choose Media-->Open Network Stream-->Network-->Input the RTSP URL as below:

IP Video surveillance system generally is composed of five parts including front-end monitoring equipment, transmission equipment, back-end storage equipment, control and display equipment.The time display is closely related to the front-end monitoring equipment (IP Camera) and control equipment (NVR), here we analyze the reasons for display time faults from these two parts.

Fault 1:The time show  "1970-X month-X day" or "2000-X month-X day" as below picture 1:

The earliest emergence UNIX operating system set January 1, 1970 as the epoch time (start time) for UNIX TIME,and Java, the database etc. many network devices complied with this constraint, so default time of many devices are January 1, 1970, some devices also set January 1, 2000 as the default time.Two possible reasons for fault 1:

1-IP Camera problem: In many non NVR environment, due to network line failure or IP cameras in a closed network (not connected to the Internet),the time of IPC can not be synchronous with internet,using the system default time(1970-x-x or 2000-x-x ).

2-The NVR problem:When the IP system including a NVR,except network failure problem could cause the time isn't synchronous with internet.If battery of nvr motherboard is low power also may cause the system show default time.Usually,change a new  battery can solve the problem.In rare cases,the problem can not be solved by changing battery,then maybe there is problem with NVR,need send NVR back to factory for maintenance.

Fault 2: The time difference is more than 10mins between display time and standard time. In one system,part of the IP cameras show different display time,max time difference reach 10-20secs.

Although the IP camera, NVR and other network equipment are integrated with real-time clock, but the clock timing accuracy is limited, there may be deviation to cause more than 10mins time difference fault between display and standard time.The most common solutions for fault 2:

1-For the IP cameras and NVR which are connected to internet, the time can be corrected thru NTP (Network Time Protocol). In the IP camera (picture 2) or NVR configuration interface (picture 3), by filling in the network clock server address access to the Internet to calibrate the clock.

2-If it's a LAN application (IPC can not access the Internet), in order to ensure time synchronization,you need configure NTP server within the network firslty, then input NTP server address to configuration interface of each IPC or NVR .Or you can also periodically connect the NTP server to the Internet, synchronize the local clock source with an external authorized clock source.

3-For the fault " In one system,part of the IP cameras show different display time,max time difference reach 10-20secs.",it's mainly caused by network switching delay.The network transmission data delay exists on each IPC and NVR, and the delay time is not same, generally within 0.5secs can be accepted by users.

Fault 3: The time difference reach a dozen hours between display time and standard time. In one system,part of the IP cameras show different display time,the time difference is more than 10secs,some even more than 10hours.This problem is more complex,Following are the main reasons: 

1-Use different time zones:if there are different models IP cameras and NVRs in one network,and those deivce adopt different time zones,some use the GMT (Greenwich Mean Time), and some use UTC (Coordinated Universal Time), and some may use the DST (Daylight Saving Time). In different devices to retrieve different time format, can not accurately identify or converted out, resulting in a difference of more than a dozen hours during different devices.In this case, need set all devices use the same time zone to solve the problem.

2-The compatibility issues:Different brand IP cameras ,some are on based on Linux, and some based on AIX, Solaris, Windows platform etc.Those different brand and platform IP cameras are with compatibility issues or inconformity time zone formats.If use them in one network may be resulting in a large time error.
