Do you know how to reset/restore factory settings of WIFI camera? If you are using MVTEAM wifi cameras, can reset/restore according to the methods in this post. If you are using other brands wifi cameras, welcome to read this post as a reference.

There are two methods to reset factory settings of MVTEAM WIFI camera.
Method 1: Hard reset/ By pressing the RESET button

In this way, following settings of wifi camera can be reset:
1)Reset to default password
2)Reset the wifi status to disconnection
3)Reset to sonic wifi configuration mode, it means if you want view the camera, must do sonic wifi connection settings firstly. When you can't connect the wifi camera to internet or can’t find cloud ID, you can try the hard reset.

Method 2: Restore via APP V12 on mobile phone
When you can live view the wifi camera on your phone, and want to restore it to factory settings, you can restore it as below:

In this way, you will reset all setting to defaut, not only password, wifi connection, but also including the record setting, image setting etc. When you don't know how to cancel some settings, can try this way. After restore in app, we suggest you do hard reset again.

Why it is import to change your camera device's password?

Are you using default password or no password for your security camera devices? If yes, please set a new password for the devices ASAP. Because once someone know your device’s ID, they will remote view or even control your device, especially for security camera system. For example, when you set the Wi-Fi IP camera at your friend’s place firstly, and then move the camera to your own place. Because your friend remote view the camera before, he knows the camera ID, then he will remote view your house all the time, until you change the password.

It is highly recommended that users change the default password when first time use the camera, and change the password every few months and not repeat any combination of previous password. The applications of IR-cut greatly impove the image quality of security cameras, especially for HD video surveillance, without IR cut, a day&night IR security camera nearly can not get clear image at night. But due to the mechanical structure characteristic of IR cut, the application of it  increases the instability of security cameras too. If IR cut is stucked when camera switching from color mode to day&night mode(or day&night to color), color cast problem will happen as below .

How to solve?
Exclude environment factors (light, power, low temperature)  
*Take down the camera from installation place, change an environment to check 
*Power off and restart the camera
*If the camera with OSD menu/support UTC, control the camera day and night switch via menu

Nowadays, security surveillance cameras enable to capture color videos as the same color as monitored things. But if the color is not accurate, the image is hard to see and uncomfortable by human’s eyes. Adjusting CCTV color cameras so that they properly display color of the objects they really are.

Solution 1: You can manage the color from “Color Setting” of the DVR menu.

According to solution 1, you still not getting your favorite color view, then please turn to NEXT.
Solution 2: Take advantage of the MVTEAM DVR “Coaxial control” function. A hidden “Color ADJ” to control the color again.

When you can see image of cameras on the monitor, but can’t remote view on the mobile phone/PC, the first thing you need do is checking whether the DVR/NVR is connected to internet sucessfully. In this post, we will useMVTEAM Hybrid DVR as example, show you how to check the internet connection status of DVR/NVR.

Step 1: Enter into the main menu, choose the network ,click the network testing, as the following picture .

Step 2 : Click “ping”, the system will detect the router’s IP address. If it appear “0% packet loss” as below, means the hybrid dvr is connected to internet sucessfully.

Many dvrs in the market don’t come with ping function, then, you can check the P2P cloud status, if it show connect success or P2P online, means the dvr/nvr is connected to internet sucessfully.

If the dvr/nvr is failed to connect internet, you can insert the network cable into your computer. If your computer can access the Internet, this proves that the cable is no problem. Then, connect the cable back to DVR, and enable DHCP, mostly the dvr/nvr will get the IP address, Gateway, DNS etc. and connect to internet automatically.

After sell wifi cameras to your customers, are there customers feedback about offline problem? If yes, how do you solve the problem for them? Follow picture is the feedbacks of a Amazon seller's wifi camera, it seems many users meet the wifi camera offline/disconnect problems.  In this post, we will talk about how to do when wifi camera offline?

Firstly, we know the Wi-Fi cameras use P2P cloud technoogy, that is the Wi-Fi cameras need connect with internet, then it can connect with cloud server. There are many networks in our surroundings, so for the first time connection, the camera need choose a gateway. And because it uses Wi-Fi wireless connection, then it needs a Wi-Fi router. So to make Wi-Fi camera online, means to make Wi-Fi camera connect with a Wi-Fi router.
Here are some tips:

1.Make sure your Wi-Fi router works in 2.4GHz and camera is in this Wi-Fi
Most Wi-Fi cameras only support 2.4GHz Wi-Fi band, if your Wi-Fi router connects to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi SSID. Normmaly, our router is 2.4GHz(some wifi cameras support 5Ghz, then, users can connect them to 5Ghz wifi router).

2.Reset Camera
On the back of the cameras, there is reset button. If your camera offline, please press and hold the reset button in 3-5 seconds, and the camera will reconnect to Wi-Fi router. If you use MVTEAM wifi cameras, after reset, you need add a new device to mobile phone app V12.

3. Try wired connection if Wi-Fi setup fails
If the camera fails to join the WiFi network, users can try the wired Ethernet connection. 
MVTEAM new design H100-C6(1MP) and H100-C8(2MP) have RJ 45 port. Simply running the Ethernet cable between the camera and the Wi-Fi router. Once the camera is accessible, you can switch wired network to Wi-Fi by operating the App.

4. Enable DHCP and Disable MAC filter
Moreover, make sure DHCP is enabled on your router, otherwise the camera can not get IP address automatically and then join the LAN. Your router's settings will block the users to access the camera. For example, users should disable MAC filter function otherwise the camera will not be able to connect to the LAN.

5. Open ports if the router has firewall rules
For school and office routers, they usually have firewall rules to block certain network ports. Hence the network admin needs to login router's web admin page to open the ports.
